Cleaning Makeup Brushes
Every single time you apply make up you are transferring the bacteria from your face to your make up brushes. If your brushes are not cleaned properly they can become breeding grounds for bacterial growth and you will, with every make up application, infect and reinfect yourself. This spread of bacteria can lead to acne and a myriad of other skin irritations. One of the best way to avoid this type of problem is to regularly clean your make up brushes with alcohol.
Cleaning Make Up Brushes with Alcohol
1 Make sure you do not mix your used and clean make up brushes during the process of applying your make up in the morning. Doing so will ensure that you do not transfer bacteria from the dirty brushes to the ones that have not been used.
2 One method of cleaning your make up brushes involves spraying them with alcohol from a spray bottle. Lightly spray the bristles and then wipe the brush clean with a paper towel. You should see the excess makeup from the brush wipe off on the towel.
3 A different method of cleaning your make up brushes with alcohol involves the use of pre-packaged alcohol wipes. These wipes can be purchased in containers or in small handy packages that you can throw in your purse or travel bag. Simply wipe the brush with the alcohol pad until the makeup on the brush is completely cleaned out.
4 Regardless of the method you use to clean your brushes, they should be allowed to air dry before they are put away. Leave the brushes, with the bristle ends pointed up, in a cup or container. You may leave them there permanently or place them in a make up or cosmetic bag once they have dried.
